"Help Me Expose the Corruption and Lies of GBNews"

I was recently on the infamous GBNews platform to discuss energy bills, and ended up exposing the corruption of the network.
Now I need your help to spread the word. The mega-rich cannot be allowed to spread misinformation about climate breakdown unchallenged.
The presenter, Martin Daubney, wanted to discuss the new Great British Energy Bill passed by the Government this week. The purpose of this Bill is to make it easier for new renewable energy sources to be deployed.
Mr Daubney was trying to argue that this new Bill costs money, and since it costs money, that will cause the price of energy to go up, and so investment in renewable energy is a negative.
It’s hard to know where to begin with such nonsense. I made the point that renewable energy from wind and solar is consistently cheaper than fossil-fuel based energy sources.
This was not met well by the presenter, who pushed me on when energy bills would come down, and tried to make out as though renewable energy sources were the problem.
This is not surprising given who owns GBNews, and I said as much on air. I explained that GBNews is owned by Paul Marshall, a hedge-funder who owns £1.8 billion worth of shares in fossil-fuel companies, including Chevron, Shell and Equinor. Perhaps it’s not surprising that the media company owned by an oil magnate espouses lies to play down the damages of fossil fuels.
The presenter tried to make out that I must also be unbiased because I used to work for Extinction Rebellion, and that this somehow absolved GBNews of their biases (as though working for a non-profit charity fighting against climate breakdown is the same as working for a for-profit media company that has a vested economic interest in playing down climate issues). I think the audience could see through this poor attempt at deflection.
Indeed, I could have gone further on this. Last year Marshall bought the Spectator, the major right-wing paper that has recently brought you headlines such as ‘Your State Pension is a Socialist Bribe’, and ‘Are Climate Scientists Qualified to Judge Net-Zero’.
Not only this, but a recent DeSmog article shows that Marshall donated £890,000 to the right-wing thinktank Policy Exchange, which was involved in key Conservative legislation including the draconian crackdown on climate protestors.
So just to recap, a fossil-fuel-funded billionaire has directly paid for the outlawing of climate protests, and has bought up several major right-wing media outlets to downplay the impact of fossil-fuels, demonise climate protestors, and besmirch renewable energy solutions.

It is vitally important that people know where their information is coming from and the vested interests that are involved.
