Many who will join the ranks of climate action in the coming decade will not be left-wing, much less “Green” or “woke”; will not know much about environmental activism (nor will they consider themselves “activists”), and may not necessarily be scientifically literate.
If progressives who are already enlisted in ambitious climate #action reject people who are becoming open to it on the grounds that they are insufficiently ideologically “pure,” we will never become a politically critical force.
